The Firm Power Imperative
As modern electrical grids rapidly scale variable solar and wind, they encounter the limits of battery storage: batteries excel at shifting four to eight hours of peak power, but cannot economically bridge weeks of seasonal winter lulls or heavy industrial manufacturing demands.
Next-generation geothermal requires less than one percent of the surface land footprint of solar or wind farms for equivalent generation, emits zero emissions during operation, and offers a direct, unionized employment pathway for petroleum rig crews whose hydraulic and drilling skills translate directly to deep geothermal exploration.
